To understand radiological images, it is necessary to keep in mind which are the basic densities that are handled in simple radiology, consisting of colors. The white, called radiopaque, is representative of structures denser than aerated lung parenchyma, including water, calcium (bone), and other solids, such as metals; black, identified as radiolucent, corresponds to structures with little or no density, such as atmospheric air.
