The imaging approach to tuberculosis allows identification of different clinical presentations based on patient age, immune status, and disease progression. Primary tuberculosis is more common in children and may present with parenchymal involvement, lymphadenopathy, miliary disease, or pleural effusion. In immunocompromised adults, post-primary tuberculosis shows findings such as cavitations, fibrosis, and hemoptysis, potentially leading to severe complications like Rasmussen aneurysms. Radiographic studies remain a key diagnostic tool, especially in high-prevalence areas such as Sonora.
