Actualidades en el manejo no farmacológico del síndrome de intestino irritable el rol de la nutrición y psicoterapia

El síndrome de intestino irritable (SII) es el trastorno gastrointestinal más comúnmente diagnosticado y tiene repercusiones negativas en la calidad de vida y productividad laboral de las personas que lo padecen. En la actualidad, se han desarrollado nuevas intervenciones para individualizar el tratamiento, como modificaciones en la dieta y el uso de diferentes técnicas de psicoterapia. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de dar a conocer los nuevos avances en el manejo del SII, así como ofrecer un panorama general de la fisiopatología
para un mejor entendimiento del uso de las nuevas terapias. En conclusión, el SII es una patología compleja que requiere de un abordaje especializado y multidisciplinario, el cual no es accesible para toda la población. Además, las nuevas intervenciones requieren de más estudios para identificar los efectos adversos a mediano y largo plazo.
